Daylight saving time ends Nov 1, 2026: what it does to drop times and the time gap with Korea

FOR U.S. Chochim editorial team · October 24, 2026

Accurate as of October 24, 2026. U.S. time rules follow guidance from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).

U.S. daylight saving time ends at 2 a.m. on Sunday, November 1, 2026. Clocks fall back to 1 a.m., so the 1 o'clock hour happens twice. Anyone chasing U.S. drops or ticket sales from Korea, or Korean sales from the U.S., needs to redo the math.

2026 U.S. DST schedule

  • Starts: 2 a.m. on the second Sunday of March (March 8 in 2026)
  • Ends: 2 a.m. on the first Sunday of November (November 1 in 2026)
  • Not observed: Hawaii, Arizona (except the Navajo Nation), American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands
  • Korea doesn't use daylight saving time.

The gap with Korea grows by an hour

U.S. zoneBefore Nov 1 (DST)From Nov 1 (standard)

Pacific (PT, Los Angeles)16 hours17 hours

What it means for drop times

U.S. Nike SNKRS releases are set for 10 a.m. Eastern. The Air Jordan 14 'Forest Green', for example, releases October 31 at 2 p.m. Coordinated Universal Time (UTC).

10 a.m. ET releaseUTCKorea time
Sat, Oct 31 (DST)14:0011 p.m. Oct 31
From Nov 1 (standard time)15:00Midnight, next day

So from November, the same "10 a.m. ET" drop opens in Korea at midnight on the following day. If your alarm says 11 p.m., reset it.

Does the server clock change?

Most servers and phones keep time in UTC internally and only apply your time zone for display. When DST ends, the UTC moment a sale opens doesn't move; what changes is your calendar and alarms. Checking the gap between the server and your device right before the hour still matters; see Why server time beats your clock.
