When deals opened last year (2025 official announcements)
- Amazon: Black Friday Week deals started November 20 at 12:01 a.m. PST and ran through Cyber Monday, December 1, more than a week before Black Friday itself.
- Walmart: three events, each with Walmart+ members getting early online access at 7 p.m. ET: Nov 13, Nov 24 and, for Cyber Monday, Nov 30.
The key point: retailers announce in different time zones. Amazon used Pacific time, Walmart Eastern.
Time-zone conversion (U.S. standard time in November)
| Announced time | Eastern (ET) | Korea (KST) |
|---|---|---|
| 12:01 a.m. PST | 3:01 a.m. | 5:01 p.m. same day |
| 7 p.m. ET | 7 p.m. | 9 a.m. next day |
U.S. daylight saving time ends November 1, adding an hour to the gap with Korea. See DST ends Nov 1.
Being ready when deals open
- Go by the retailer's own announcement: Black Friday schedules usually come out in late October and November through retailer press releases and official blogs. Check the original rather than secondhand articles.
- Member early access: some retailers, like Walmart with Walmart+, open first to paid members. If you're a member, confirm you're signed in.
- Save payment details: hot limited deals are often lost at checkout rather than at add-to-cart.
- Use the server clock at the hour: deals open on the retailer's server clock. Right before, enter the site address on Chochim to check the gap with your device.
